Lord Mayor Brings Positive Cork Message to the White House

Lord Mayor Brings Positive Cork Message to the White House

Later today, the Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Des Cahill will attend the Presidential Reception in the White House to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

The Lord Mayor has spoken of the unique opportunity that this visit brings to promote Cork stating:

"Cork City has been hugely successful in transforming itself into a location of choice for some of the world's top companies. Our educational pedigree, our quality of life, our place-making, our culture, our people, our heritage - all these and more make Cork a location of choice, helping the city to box far beyond its weight in competing successfully on a global stage for Foreign Direct Investment. Cork is buzzing and that momentum is building. That is the strong message that I’m proud to take to the White House."

The Lord Mayor is accompanied by Seamus Coghlan, Head of Economic Development in Cork City Council. He returns to Ireland immediately after the President's Reception for the St Patrick's Day festivities in Cork.
