Resident Parking Permits

 

 A:-Residents Parking Permit:

 
Residents permits allow permit holders to park their vehicle without limitation as to time in the parking zone(s) of the pay parking area to which the permit relates.

All residents who are the owner of a vehicle and live in a parking zone are entitled to a residents parking permit with the following exceptions:-

1.     Residents of a purpose built apartment block where off street parking has been constructed as part of the development will not be eligible for a residents permit.

2.     Residents of a purpose built apartment block where development of the complex was completed after March 2004 will not be eligible for a residents permit.

Am I entitled to a permit?

How do I apply for a permit?

 

An application form is available from the Transportation Public Counter, City Hall, Cork or from the City Council website.

Submit all fully completed applications to Residents Permit Section, Transportation Division, City Hall, Cork.

What do I need for a permit?

 

 

 

  • Completed Application Form
  • A copy of the Vehicle Licensing Certificate / Log Book for your vehicle – the vehicle must be registered to the address for which the parking permit is being sought – see notes a) and b) below
  • A recent domestic Utility Bill in your name for the address for which the permit is being sought (i.e. electricity, gas, landline telephone) or Financial Documents (Credit Card, Bank Account, Credit Union statements)
  • A copy of your insurance certificate – the address on the insurance certificate must be the same as the address for which the permit is being sought.
  • Application Fee - as specified on the relevant application form.

If I drive a company vehicle can I get a permit?

Applicants who have the use of a Company Car are required to submit a signed letter by the Chief Executive/Managing Director on headed paper confirming the following:-

The vehicle registration No.

Name and Address of the Employee and confirmation that the Applicant has domestic use of the vehicle

Confirmation that the vehicle is kept at the Applicant's Residence

Insurance Certificate and Log Book/Vehicle Licensing Certificate must be attached to application.
