Cork’s first direct transatlantic service to North America will commence in July 2017. Norwegian CEO Bjorn Kjos unveiled the new route from Cork to Boston on 23 February and confirmed that there would be three flights each week from Cork to Boston.
Welcoming the announcement the Lord Mayor of Cork Cllr Des Cahill said "This is fantastic and it is news we have all been waiting for and many of us have fought hard to secure. I know it has been a long-held aspiration for the region to have a direct translantic service".
The announcement marks the start of direct air connectivity between Cork and North America and is set to expand with additional direct flights to New York to follow. Tickets are now on sale from https://www.norwegian.com/ie
