Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow wind warning for Cork that is in effect from 5 p.m. today 23rd November until 2 a.m. on Sunday morning 24 November 2024.
As a result of expected high winds, the public is advised of potential hazards such as downed trees and debris on roads, footpaths and cycle lanes. Road users and cyclists are advised to take extra care when travelling. Motorists are asked to slow down, drive with extra care and attention and endure you protect vulnerable road users like cyclists and pedestrians.
Due to the expected high winds on Saturday evening and in the early hours of Sunday morning Cork City Council would advise that residents and businesses take the necessary precautions to ensure that loose items e.g. trampolines, materials on building sites etc. are properly secured.
