Christmas Pageant to launch CORKMAS 2024

Corkmas will kick-off with a dazzling Christmas pageant on Friday November 15 to mark the start of the festive season and the lights turning on in the City. The pageant, including music, community group performances and a very special visit from Santa, will travel through the city centre. Corkmas Drawing Competition:

To further mark CORKMAS, we want to celebrate the next generation of artists. Children across the city are being encouraged to draw their favourite Christmas characters or colour in a famous Cork landmark to be in with a chance to have their drawings used to decorate bus shelters across the city over the festive period.

The competition features 3 different age groups:

4 – 6 years of age
7 – 8 years of age
9 - 11 years of age

This competition is run through our 10 city libraries, so don’t worry if you haven’t got a chance to enter yet, pop into your local library and grab a template. Just remember that the completed template has to be returned to the branch to be considered for the competition.

Closing date for entries is Saturday, 28 September 2024. We have a few rules regarding the entries;

Make bright colourful designs that fill the template box.
Use paint, markers, pens and crayons.
Make sure your drawing is the correct way up.
But most importantly have FUN!
