There are a variety of career opportunities within the Council’s legal department. We have a number of Legal Assistants who handle their own independent case load under the supervision of the solicitors. The role of Legal Assistant would be similar to that of a Legal Executive within a private solicitor’s firm. We have a number of solicitors who are each professionally qualified and hold practising certificates from the Law Society of Ireland. There is scope for career development at solicitor level as within the department structure, there are Assistant Solicitors, Executive Solicitors, Senior Executive Solicitors and the Law Agent.
