The scent of sweet treats will be in the air at Cork City Hall on Valentine's Day as Lady Mayoress Marcelline Bonneau hosts a Coffee Morning in aid of Marymount University Hospital & Hospice. The fun-filled event takes place on Wednesday 14th February in Millennium Hall.
The Coffee Morning raises essential funds for Marymount and this support helps to continue delivering specialist palliative care across the city. Businesses and groups across the city are generously offering cakes, scones, coffee, vouchers and their time for this worthwhile event. The Lady Mayoress, Marcelline Bonneau, stated: "It is a privilege to be a part of this occasion to support Marymount University Hospital and Hospice. I would like to thank all the performers, the choirs, volunteers and donors, as well as municipal staff, who are coming together to make the Lady Mayoress’ Coffee Morning such a wonderful morning. I would like to invite all those available that day to come and enjoy a nice, joyful and entertaining morning." Hospice Coffee Mornings are synonymous with Bewley’s and Bewley’s is synonymous with Hospice Coffee Mornings; the two go hand in hand. It’s a cause and campaign that Bewley’s has been privileged to lend its support to for over 30 years. Attendees will be treated to not just coffee & cakes, but magic, music and mayhem! The event will feature musical performances by ‘The Voices Of Cork’ Community Choir, Ukrainian Community Choir ‘Kalyna’ & a spectacular piece from the Lady Mayoress and Lord Mayor. Joining them will be psychological magician Daniel Cremin and juggling aficionado and ‘Captain Cormac’. All performers are giving their time freely for this excellent cause. The people of Cork are urged not to miss a morning of singing, eating, laughing and love!
The Lady Mayoress’ Coffee Morning will be hosted in Millennium Hall from 10am to 12.30pm on Valentine’s Day 2024. Entry is free, with donations encouraged, and the event can be accessed from Eglinton Street.
