Proposed Variation No. 1 Parking Standards

Public Consultation on Material Alterations to Variation No. 1 to the Cork City Development Plan 2022-2028

In accordance with Section 13 of the Planning & Development Acts 2000 (as amended), Cork City Council has prepared Material Alterations to Proposed Variation No. 1 (Revised Parking Standards on a City-wide Basis, including consequential text changes and map) of the Cork City Development Plan 2022 – 2028. 

Material Alterations to Variation No. 1 are set out in the Planning Report and are set out as follows:

  • Amend the Written Statement of Volume 1: Cork City Development Plan 2022-2028 by Updating Table 4.6 (Parking Zones);
  • Revising Table 11.13 (Maximum Car Parking Standards) relating to a number of destination land -use categories;
  • Consequential text changes in Volume 1, Chapter 4 Transport and Mobility and Chapter 11 Placemaking and Managing Development;
  • A new map in Volume 2: Mapped Objectives to define the car parking zones spatially (Chapter E: Car Parking Zones).
  • An addendum to the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Appropriate Assessment (AA) reports and associated Determinations are also provided. 

Submissions are invited on the proposed Material Alterations to the proposed Variation and accompanying Environmental Screening Reports and Determinations.

The Material Alterations to the proposed Variation will be on public display from 9 a.m. 16th February2023 and will remain on display for 4 weeks until 5pm on the 16th February 2023.  

It can be viewed at www.corkcitydevelopmentplan.ie and also in the following venues:

  • The Planning Counter, Cork City Council, City Hall, Anglesea Street, Cork from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday - Friday.  
  • The City Library, Grand Parade, Cork from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday – Saturday and other City branch Libraries.
