Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Joe Kavanagh and Lady Mayoress Stephanie Kavanagh laid a wreath on the grave of Cork hunger striker Joseph Murphy on the 100th anniversary of his death in Cork Gaol on October 25 1920.
Murphy died at the age of 25 after 76 days on hunger strike.
