High Astronomical Spring Tides- Saturday 9th -Tuesday 12th of March 2024.

Cork City Council wishes to advise that there will be a period of very high astronomical Spring Tides from tomorrow Saturday 9th March 2024 until Tuesday the 12th of March  2024.

The natural cycle of High Tides for the following days is predicted for:

High tides are predicted to cause minor localised flooding along low-lying quays i.e.:

• Morrison’s Quay
• Mathew Quay
• Mathew Street
• Union Quay
• Trinity Bridge
• South Terrace
• Rutland Street
• Sawmill Street
• Lavitts Quay
• Kyrls Street
• Kyrls Quay
• Crosses Green
• Proby’s Quay
• Sharman Crawford St
• Wandesford Quay.

Cork City Council’s Flood Assessment Team is monitoring the situation closely and will continue to issue regular updates on the tidal forecast to our Twitter (@corkcitycouncil) account as well as the City Council’s Website (www.corkcity.ie)

At this time householders and businesses are advised to take the necessary precautions to protect property and stay tuned for further updates.
