Cork's LGBTI+ Awareness Week 2022 will be launched this evening, Monday 16th May. The Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Colm Kelleher will launch LGBTI+ Awareness Week at an event taking place from 4.45 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Cork City Hall.
Cork LGBTI+ Inter Agency Group have put together an exciting and diverse programme of events for the week in which we mark May 17th, International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT). The programme includes a webinar, a culture night, a live-streamed international panel discussion (to be streamed on Cork City Council's YouTube channel and on www/corkcity.ie/tv) with colleagues in Washington D.C. and a picnic in Fitzgerald’s Park with live music and children’s activities.
Join us for the formal launch, which will feature a Rainbow Flag raising ceremony, music from Choral ConFusion, an address from Mayor London Breed, the Mayor of our sister city and fellow Rainbow City San Francisco, and a tribute to Tony Power, RIP, who was an integral member of the Cork LGBTI+ Inter Agency group.
