Services Provided
Cork City Council administers a number of grant options to assist older people and people with a disability in carrying out works which are necessary for the purposes of rendering a house more suitable for their accommodation needs. Further information and application forms are available below.
Cork City Council Tenant
The following Grant is available:
- Once Off Adaptation works for Special Needs Local Authority Tenants
How long does the application process take?
8 - 12 weeks: from submission of a fully completed application to issue of a Confirmation letter from Cork City Council.
6 - 12 months: commencement of recommended works is dependent on the annual budget available to the relevant Cork City Council Department.
Private Home Owner
The following Grants are available:
- Housing Adaptation Grants for People with a Disability
- Mobility Aids Grant
- Housing Aid for Older People Grant
How Long Will It Take?
Up to 14 weeks: from Submission of a fully completed application to issue of an Approval letter from Cork City Council.
6 months: a successful applicant has 6 months to complete the approved works.
