Rapid Deployment Pedestrian Scheme 2022

Works Extent

Cork City Council intends to upgrade pedestrian and cycling infrastructure across 15 locations in the South-West LAC.  Works include provision of new paths, upgrading existing paths, enhancing existing modal filters, new public lighting, drainage and landscaping.

Objectives

The objectives of the project are to provide:

• Enhanced connectivity for pedestrian and cyclists;
• Safer and more direct route for commuters, school goers and leisure enthusiasts;
• An environment which will encourage modal shift to active travel;
• An improved quality of life for residents in the area.

Timeline

Construction Start: Q4 2022.

Finish: Q2 2023.
