Rochestown to Douglas Cycle Scheme
Planning/Design Phase
Works Extent
Cork City Council intends to provide a cycle route to connect the Cork City to Passage West Greenway with Douglas.
Objectives
The aim of the scheme is to provide a safe high-quality link for cyclists from Douglas Village, and the surrounding residential areas, to the Cork City to Passage West Greenway. Providing this safe access will encourage the shift towards cycling for those who wish to go to the city centre for work or leisure purposes. The scheme measures approximately 2.8 km in length.
Timeline
Cork City Council is working on the preliminary design of this scheme at present. The design team is currently engaging with TII as this scheme interacts with the M28 Cork to Ringaskiddy Motorway Scheme. It is intended to publish the Part 8 Planning in Q3 2024..
