How to pay for Parking

In recent days, it has been reported that there has been fraudulent activity relating to QR Code stickers appearing on some of parking meters, particularly in the Dublin area.  These QR Code stickers are not genuine and redirect customers to a fake website.

We wish to make our customers aware that Cork City Council does NOT use QR Code stickers to take payment for any of its parking facilities either when parking on a public road or in one of our car parks or Park & Ride.

The only methods of paying for parking in Cork City are:

  • Displaying a parking disc purchased from an authorised retailer when parking on the street,
  • Use Cork City Park by Phone app / the dedicated Cork City Park by Phone telephone number when parking on the street,
  • Cash or card paid directly to the pay machine in Douglas,
  • Cash or card paid directly to the pay machine in the parking facility when parking in Paul Street Car Park, North Main Street Car Park or the Black Ash Park & Ride.
