Organised by Cork City Council, Cork Heritage Open Day took place on Saturday August 17th. The event was a huge success thanks in no small part to the amazing heritage community in Cork city who opened their doors and organised events completely free of charge to the public
For one day only, over 40 of Cork’s landmark buildings opened their doors to the public.
There were several tours of the streets of Cork in locations all over the city including Douglas Street, Jewtown, The Victorian Quarter, the Middle Parish and the Coal Quay.
There were also talks, exhibitions, guided tours of historical buildings and lots more as Cork celebrated its built heritage in style!
All events were free!
Cork Heritage Open Day is organised by Cork City Council in partnership with the Heritage Council and marks the start of National Heritage Week in Cork City. The Echo is the media sponsor of Cork Heritage Open Day.
