Historic Permissions (blue book scans)

Cork City Council has a record of planning permissions granted in the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s and this record is referred to as the ‘Blue Book’.  It is used to search for planning permission reference numbers to request permission decision documents or final grants of permission.  It lists the house no., date of application, the permission requested (e.g. extension, construction, change of use) and the decision that was made. The documents below are scans of the ‘Blue Book’ and they are divided up alphabetically according to street/road name and which year the planning was granted.  Due to the age of the records some pages may be missing or damaged. When searching, you should use the street name e.g. if you were looking for a permission for a development on Anglesea Street, you would look in AL_AV.  If you were looking for a permission on Farranlea Road, you would search under EVE_FRI. Some addresses are entered in reverse, such as Lower Glanmire Road, which is entered as Glanmire Road Lower and therefore appears under ‘G’, not ‘L’. Also South Douglas Road appears as Douglas Road South, and so on.

If you require a copy of the decision document or final grant of permission, please email planning@corkcity.ie .  A fee is payable of €30. Payments can be made over the phone using debit/credit card.  Please include a contact number in your email to enable a member of staff to contact you for payment.
