Discover Cork: Schools Heritage Project 21st Year
The Discover Cork: Schools’ Heritage Project 2022 launches in its 21st year and is open to schools in Cork City. Funded by Cork City Council, the Project is an initiative of the Cork City Heritage Plan.

Play like a Pirate and discover a treasure trove of culture
Throughout the summer, families can discover Cork’s hidden treasures and play in galleries, museums, cultural attractions and outdoor spaces throughout the city. The trail, which includes cannon spotting, making floatable rafts, searching for golden eagles and loot is designed to encourage young people to explore culture in an imaginative and playful way!

Cork Mini Boat sets sail
A ‘mini boat’, 1.5 metre in length with a tiny sail, that crossed the vast expanses of the Atlantic Ocean, sailing over 5000km and landing in Ireland has set sail once again, thanks to a collaboration between Cork City Council, Creative Ireland, Port of Cork, the National Maritime College of Ireland, the Marine Institute’s Explorers Education Programme and the Educational Passages in the USA.
