Cork City Food History Tour takes you on a walking tour of the city centre with food tastings along the way. Visit the English Market, Butter Museum, Crawford Art Gallery with stops for food tasting and chat. This is a walking tour of Cork city with commentary on the food and drinks history of the city going back to Viking days. 2.30pm, Thursday 15th August, Living Commons Arts studio Shandon St
Discover your inner artist, and learn about the ancient craft of hand building with clay in this 2.5 hour ceramic workshop. You will design, create and build a unique, contemporary bowl or platter that you can use daily in your kitchen, safe for food use or simply hung on the wall as your very own personal art piece or even frame it after. You will learn the fundamental techniques of hand building, sculpting and texturing a slab of clay. Martha will fire the work twice, once to bisc, I will then glaze it and fire again to a high fired glaze finish. The work will be ready in 3 weeks for collection or postage can be arranged. In this workshop Martha will address two of our Sustainability Goals 2: Zero Hunger and 16: Peace and Justice and Strong Institutions.
