Applications open for capital funding for community enhancement and women’s groups
Cork City Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) and Cork City Council wish to invite applications for Cork City LCDC Local Enhancement Capital Programme 2024 and the Local Enhancement Fund for Women’s Groups.
The Local Enhancement Programme is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development. The Local Enhancement Programme is a Capital fund to support groups, particularly in disadvantaged areas to carry out necessary repairs and improvements to their facilities and purchase of equipment for community use. The funding may also be used but not limited to improved access for persons with a disability, enhancing community participation for disadvantaged and marginalised groups and improving energy efficiency of community facilities.
The Local Enhancement Programme Women’s Groups is a capital grant to provide funding towards women’s groups to carry out necessary repairs and improvements to their facilities and purchase of equipment. The programme will also fund or partially fund larger scale projects to address disadvantage.
Interim Director of Service of the Cork City LCDC, David O’Brien, welcomed the 2024 Local Enhancement Fund:
“Cork City Council welcomes this round of funding for community projects across our city. The funding, from national government and carried out through Cork City Local Community Development Committee, is aimed at grassroots projects who deliver a vast range of important and quality services and supports locally. These grants will provide much needed additional funding to communities, especially in disadvantaged areas”.
