Public Consultation for CCTV Cameras in Public Areas of Cork City

Cork City Council is undertaking public consultation on the provision of CCTV Cameras in public areas within the city of Cork.
We seek your views on the implementation of CCTV for the prevention of litter and illegal dumping in the following areas:
- Nash’s Boreen Amenity Walk
- Sunday School Lane
- Orchard Court, Blackpool
- Bring Bank, Time Square, Ballincollig
- Bring Bank, Dunnes Bishopstown
- Bring Bank, SuperValu Ballincollig
- Bring Bank, Tesco Wilton Shopping Centre
- Bring Bank, Castle Road Mahon
- Bring Bank, Clashduv
- Bring Bank, Aldi Tory Top Rd
- Bring Bank, Lidl Churchfield
- Bring Bank, Mount Oval, Rochestown
- Bring Bank, Dunnes Ballyvolane
Cork City Council intends to install and operate CCTV cameras for the sole primary purpose of preventing litter and illegal dumping and enforcement of the Litter Pollution Act, 1997, and the Waste Management Act 1996. This initiative will adhere to the Codes of Practice for the operation of CCTV for the purpose of Prevention, Detection & Prosecution of Litter and Waste Offences.
Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed scheme may be made in writing to the Environment Department, Cork City Council, City Hall, Cork, T12 T997. Alternatively, you may email submissions or observations at waste_enforcement@corkcity.ie no later than 23/04/2025.
