Registration Open for the Cork City Marathon 2025

The countdown to the 2025 Cork City Marathon is officially underway! With just six months to go until Sunday, June 1, participants are encouraged to secure their place early as the event sold out in 2024.
Organised by Cork City Council, the marathon features three distances: Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K race, with routes through Cork City’s vibrant streets and past iconic landmarks. Celebrating its 24th year, the Cork City Marathon welcomes everyone, from elite athletes to first-time runners. Building on the €200,000 raised for 58 charity partners in 2024, organisers aim to double this target in the coming years, encapsulated in the tagline: ‘Your Race, Their Hope.’
The Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Dan Boyle welcomed the announcement of the 2025 Cork City Marathon “The Cork City Marathon is a wonderful event for the city and getting out and active is massively beneficial to all of us both physically and mentally. Thousands of spectators line the streets of the city centre and beyond to create a fun festival atmosphere around the entire route.
Rebecca Loughry, Director of Services with Cork City Council, says that she is looking forward to building on the momentum and success of 2024: “40 years on from the first ever Cork Marathon it is extremely exciting to begin the preparations for next year's event. 2024 was a huge success and Cork City Council are looking forward to making next year’s event even better.
Looking ahead, 2025 promises exciting enhancements, from improved amenities to sustainability initiatives. Spectators can expect a lively festival atmosphere with live music, including performances by the Cork School of Music, and family-friendly activities organised by Let’s Play Cork. The event will once again draw significant crowds, showcasing Cork City’s vibrant energy and providing a boost to the local economy.
