DRAFT CORK CITY COUNCIL
(SEGREGATION, STORAGE AND PRESENTATION
OF HOUSEHOLD AND COMMERCIAL WASTE)
BYE LAWS 2018
Notice is hereby given that Cork City Council pursuant
to Section 35(1) of the Waste Management Act 1996
and Section 199(1) of the Local Government Act 2001
and in accordance with Part 19 of the Local Government
Act 2001 proposes to make new bye-laws to regulate
and control the segregation, storage and presentation
of household and commercial waste within its functional
area. It is also proposed to revoke the Cork Corporation
(presentation of waste in wheel bins) Bye Laws, 2000.
It is proposed to make provision in the bye-laws for
the imposition of a fixed payment of E75 in respect
of a contravention of a bye-law as an alternative to a
prosecution, as provided for in Section 206 of the Local
Government Act 2001.
The Draft Bye-Laws will be available for public inspection
from Friday 7th September, 2018 until Friday 9th
November, 2018 during normal opening hours, at
City Hall, Cork and online at www.corkcity.ie.
A copy of the Bye-Laws will be given to any such person
applying for it, free of charge.
Cork City Council will consider any submissions made
in relation to the Draft Waste Presentation Bye-Laws.
Submissions can be made, in writing, before 5.00pm
on Friday 16th November 2018 to The Administrative
Officer, Litter Management Section, Room 233, City Hall,
Cork or by email to littermanagement@corkcity.ie.
All submissions must include the name and address of
the person/organisation making the submission.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ACQUIRE DERELICT SITE
COMPULSORILY UNDER DERELICT SITES ACT, 1990
Notice is hereby given that the City Council (hereinafter
referred to as the “Local Authority”) in exercise of the
powers conferred on them by Section 14 of the Derelict
Sites Act, 1990 intend to acquire compulsorily under the
said Act the derelict site described hereunder.
A map of the said derelict site has been deposited at the
Reception Desk, Cork City Council, City Hall, Cork, and
may be inspected there during office hours.
Any owner, lessee or occupier (except a tenant for a
month or a period less than a month) may, on or before
8th day of October 2018, submit to the Local Authority
an objection to the proposed compulsory acquisition of
the derelict site. Any such objection must be in writing
stating the grounds of the objection and addressed to the
Local Authority at Cork City Council, Property Section,
City Hall, Cork.
The Derelict Sites Act, 1990 (as amended by the
Planning & Development Act, 2000) provides that if an
objection is made to the proposed compulsory
acquisition of a derelict site and the objection is not
withdrawn, the derelict site shall not be acquired
compulsorily by the Local Authority without the consent
of An Bord Pleanála.
DESCRIPTION OF DERELICT SITE PROPOSED
TO BE ACQUIRED
Derelict property known as No. 1 Evenus Ville, Albert
Road, Cork, bounded on the North by Albert Road, on
the East by No. 3 Montenotte View, Albert Road, on
the South by No. 2 Evenus Ville and on the West by
Albert Road, Cork.
