Some of the world's leading companies including Apple have located their European headquarters here due to a wealth of educated talent across various degree disciplines, a highly collaborative and supportive business eco-system and strong connectivity to European markets.
Cork’s Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences sector is rapidly expanding, over the last ten years over €10 billion has been invested in new facilities. Seven of the ten of the world’s top pharmaceutical companies including Janssen, AbbVie, Eli Lilly, Pfizer, Merck/MSD, Novartis, and Thermo Fisher Scientific call Cork home.
In total there are now over thirty companies operating in the sector that employ over 10,000 people.
