Blog: Cork City Council homes benefit from Interreg RED WOLF project
Cork City Council has partnered with the Institute of Technology Sligo to participate in the Interreg North West Europe RED WOLF project (Rethink Electricity Distribution Without Load Following).
As part of the project, 10 Cork City Council homes that have no central heating will receive three components:
(1) Solar Voltaic Cells
(b) a battery
(c) electric storage heaters
Thee purpose of the project is to see how these components interact to reduce energy consumption and green house gas emissions. The project will last three years and cost an estimated €253K, of which the European Union will fund 60%.
