The Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Colm Kelleher, has called out to the people of Cork to join him in showing solidarity with the people of Ukraine tomorrow, Wednesday 2 March at 12 noon at the gates of Bishop Lucey Park on Grand Parade.
The Lord Mayor will lay a wreath and tie a yellow ribbon on the gate of the Park, symbolising the support of the people of Cork for the people of Ukraine. The Ukrainian flag will fly at Bishop Lucey Park also. Members of the Ukrainian community in Cork and friends of Ukraine are invited to join him.
The Lord Mayor said: "I invite the people of Cork to join me in expressing their solidarity with our friends in the Ukrainian community here in our city and in Ireland, their families, and their fellow countrymen and women. We stand with them, we are utterly appalled by what is happening to their country."
