Street Performer ByeLaws

Street Performer Byelaws 2024

Street Performance involves “engaging in any type of performance or exhibition with the reasonable expectation or opportunity of receiving donations, or not,”.  Under the Cork City Street Performer Byelaws 2024, coming into effect on the 20th May 2024, anyone engaging in street performance must hold a Street Performer Permit, though there are exemptions for certain activities.

You will need to apply for a Street Performer Permit to perform in designated performance areas.

You can apply for a Street Performer's Permit Here or by downloading the paper application at the bottom of the page.

Please note the street performer permit fee is waived for those aged 25 or under.

The completed paper application form should be returned to Street Performer Applications, Waste Enforcement, Cork City Council, City Hall, Anglesea Street, Cork or emailed to streetperformer@corkcity.ie.

For those applying for a Group Performance Permit, or for any queries, please contact the office via email to streetperformer@corkcity.ie

We have worked closely with Cork Street Performers Association which was established in 2023 to support buskers in contributing to a positive street culture in Cork City. Contact can be made with the association via email corkstreetculture@gmail.com or on 083 3692828.
