More Details:

Gleann a’ Phúca is a project led by artist Julie Forrester, which aims to respond to the ecological, cultural, industrial, and historical heritage that still dwells within the Glen River Park on the North East of Cork City.

Among its many events and workshops, the project includes targeted engagement with Traveller girls through creative youth café workshops and Traveller boys in the nearby Jimmy’s boxing club. Their creative plan centres around ongoing engagement with natural materials, encompassing sculpture-making, painting, and drawing.

This event for Cruinniú na nÓg is a celebration for these young people and their families, as they will select some of their workshop pieces for an exhibition at the Glen Resource Centre. A private reception will be held at the centre for friends and families of the group, followed by a walk in the park together.

Other groups who use the Glen Resource Centre will be able to see the work which will be on display for a week from 14th to 21st June. The children will also curate a dedicated page on the Gleann a' Phúca website which will be open for all to access.

Booking:

The event on 15th June is for invited participants only. The exhibition will be open to users of the Glen Resource Centre from 14th to 21st June.
